Salvador Dalí (1904-1989)
The surrealist principles behind Salvador Dalì‘s art: dreamlike images, incongruence, dada, absurdism, nihilism, ‘anti’-art, cynicism, optical illusion and his work with Luis Buñuel have been tremendously influential. My favourite paintings of his are Spain (1938) and The Discovery of America by Christopher Columbus (1959).
Dalí wrote a book called ‘50 Secrets of Magic Craftsmanship‘.
