From Cleethorpes, Rodney Temperton could groove, funk and knew how to write an irresistibly catchy chorus. When his band Heatwave’s single Boogie Nights came out in 1977, I got seriously happy feet.
His songs Thriller (1982) for Michael Jackson, Yah Mo B There (1983) for James Ingram & Michael Macdonald with Quincy Jones, Spice of Life (1983) & Mystery for the Manhattan Transfer and Sweet Freedom (1986) for Michael Macdonald continuously appeal.
