Judee Sill (1944-1979)
Judee Sill was an American folk singer. She grew up under harsh circumstances, but learned piano, guitar and took a keen interest in the music of Johann Bach. Her family were very religious. As a result of these influences, her songs take on visionary, sometimes surreal, religious undertones in well-achieved polyphony.
Check out the songs ‘Jesus was a Cross-Maker’ and ‘The Lamb Ran Away with the Crown’.
