XTC in 1982

I discovered the band XTC when their song Senses Working Overtime charted. I bought the LP from which the track came: An English Settlement (1982) and enjoyed XTC’s song structures, unusual rhythms, percussion parts and (best of all) Andy Partridge’s sparklingly refreshing bridge sections. An English Settlement was engineered by Hugh Padgham.

Since then, I have collected some XTC albums. One of my favourites is Mummer (1983) which includes among other captivating songs: Ladybird, Love on a Farmboy’s Wages and In Loving Memory of a Name. Check out also the album Skylarking (1987). Marvellous.
