Rodney Jerkins (b. 1977)
Elaborately-produced, catchy tunes appear on the radio. They seem to be made of bits of sonic dust, little substantial in itself, but heard together, the effect is elaborate, delightful and addictive. This is the work of classically-trained Rodney Jerkins, who can’t seem to put a foot wrong.
Favourite tracks of mine that he’s worked on: It’s Not Right, But It’s OK for Whitney Houston (1998), He Wasn’t Man Enough for Me for Toni Braxton (2000), Telephone for Stefani Germanotta (2009).
